Roonmul Trust is a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering the families of farmers affected by suicide, particularly in the vulnerable regions of Marathwada and Vidarbha, Maharashtra. Established in 2016, Roonmul Trust was founded with a deep commitment to restoring dignity and hope to the lives of those devastated by the ongoing agrarian crisis.

- Roonmul Trust was born out of a deep sense of responsibility towards the farming community, who form the foundation of society. The word Roonmul itself symbolizes our duty to the "roots" — the farmers who provide food and sustenance for all. However, the reality of erratic rainfall, crop failure, and unassured prices has pushed many farmers into a cycle of debt and despair, particularly in Maharashtra's drought-prone regions.
- Recognizing the gravity of the agrarian crisis and the rising incidents of farmer suicides, Roonmul Trust was established on December 1, 2016, under the Mumbai Trust Act, 1950, with Registration Number E-32730. We were founded to address not only the economic but also the emotional and social consequences of these tragedies. Our efforts began with the realization that behind every farmer who takes their own life is a family left in financial ruin and emotional turmoil.
- Over the past seven years, Roonmul has worked tirelessly to support these families, focusing on the immediate needs of widows and children, while also addressing the long-term sustainability of farming communities.
